Three years old!

Happy Birthmonth LibraryStories and Readers.

Towards the end of 2003 I got a message from then OLA President Anne P. asking me to help contribute to OLA by developing a site concerning current events and news for the Oklahoma library community. I figured since blogging had already been around for a few years and the technology was the right price (free) I would give this blogging thing a try -- and thus LibraryStories was born.

It never ceases to amaze me as to the number of people and types of searches that find their way to this little sector of the internet.

This little blog has had over 59,900 page views from over 32,500 visitors in 127 countries. Most of the readers come to the blog from the email updates I send to the OLA email list while many others come from searching (at least)87 search engines for things ranging from HB 2158, library book sorting machines, sexy librarian, haunted libraries, librarian Ruth Brown, desperate librarians, and even specific librarians and libraries in Oklahoma -- just to name a few.

It's been a fun ride and I've enjoyed bringing these stories to you. Please know that your help is always needed. There are only so many RSS feeds and email newsletters I can sort through on any given day -- if you know of Oklahoma library stories that I let slip through the cracks then please let me know and I'll get them up. Also, if your library has a feature that would fit in the side bar of this blog drop me a line (or a comment) and I would be happy to add it!

Thank you for reading!
