A Scholar Who Gives 'Harry' the Evil Eye (washingtonpost.com)

A Scholar Who Gives 'Harry' the Evil Eye (washingtonpost.com): An interesting look at the role of Harry Potter's messages. An excerpt reads: "Jean Bethke Elshtain, a political philosopher from the University of Chicago who has spent decades making calm and reasonable arguments about why people should be more calm and reasonable, has wandered into the fray. Earlier this month she took a sizable chunk of a chapter from her 1996 book on St. Augustine, and appended to it some observations about the plot of the first five Harry Potter novels. The result was a Library of Congress lecture titled 'St. Augustine, Harry Potter and the Confrontation with Evil.'"
