A story from Reuters UK says: "The company ELSN.AS REL.L , which owns a range of scientific and legal journals, New Scientist magazine and the Hollywood trade publication Variety, said on Thursday pre-tax profit rose nine percent to 1.01 billion pounds for the year to December 31.
Analyst estimates ranged from 976.5 million to 1.03 billion pounds, according to a poll of 15 analysts by Reuters Research."
