Even though these are for the Rosenberg Library, in Texas, these are really lovely letters to the library and chronicle the relationships people have had with it for 100 years...I think some of these hold true for many Oklahomans and their libraries.
My mom arranged our first meeting. I was all of 3 ½ years old. She led me up many steps until we came upon a series of large, tall rooms with books of all sizes and shapes. Encased in glass I saw a miniature version of some storybook characters: “Goldilocks and the Three Bears,” with porridge and the “open sesame cave” of Ali Baba’s 40 thieves with bags of gems and other baubles. It was love at first sight.
