Talk about breaking a stereotype...

The Globe and Mail
He worked as a researcher among the quiet stacks of the Toronto Reference Library for more than a decade, supporting a wife and children. But 55-year-old Douglas Freeman -- whose real name is Joseph Coleman Pannell -- is accused of hiding a secret, violent past.

Mr. Pannell, police in Chicago say, is a former member of the Black Panther Party wanted for attempted murder in the shooting of a police officer four times at point-blank range in 1969 at the height of the radical group's notoriety.

But my question is, from what library school did he get his degree?

From the Oxford English Dictionary:

OVERRATE Verb.
1. trans. To rate too highly or above the real value or amount, to over-estimate; to give to (coins) a forced currency as legal tender beyond the intrinsic value.

READVerb.
I. Transitive uses.
* To consider, interpret, discern, etc.
1. a. To have an idea; to think or suppose
Noun.
An act of perusal; a spell of reading; also Sc., a loan of a book, etc., for the purpose of reading it. transf., something for reading, esp. with ref. to its value as entertainment or information (freq. with qualifying adj.).

--Luckily it's a rating system that is up to the individual to determine--

What library school did he get his degree from is not the point here. This is about political persecution. And yes, there will be plenty of lies about Mr. Pannell and his story. Let's hope Canada stands strong and keeps America's dirty paws off Mr.Pannell.

The entire U.S. will agree that Joseph Coleman Pannell's case is a matter of political persecution. The 60's was a very turbulent era for young black youth and hasn't changed much today. Young black youth are the most misunderstood and the most feared in the world. Why? Because their skin is black. Its about time we all banded together as humans. There is no BLACK RACE, WHITE, RED OR YELLOW RACE. Get with the program! We are all ONE RACE!!!! THE HUMAN RACE!!!!! LEAVE PANNELL ALONE!!! Doesn't his past 35 years tell you what kind of a man he really is?

Its obvious by the 4 comments posted above, that someone is trying to short-change Pannell. Something about this whole case is really starting to STINK. Canadians (the citizens) are cathing on. I hope our Courts come to the same realization. Pannell is being persecuted because of his color and the time in which the incident took place.

Its sad that Mr.Pannell is being made to look like a criminal, when in fact we all know back then if he wouldnt have defended himself he would have been dead, and if he had not fled he would have been in prison for the rest of his life. Lets be real, we all know racism was ramped back then and hopefully justice will prevail in this case now. I know the man personally and know he is been a good father, husband and law abiding citizen.

Actually, he is not a librarian, just a library assistant. So no degree in LIS.
