News-Star Online | Library centennial beginning 10/08/04: "Shawnee librarians and Friends of the library will kick off a year of events to celebrate their upcoming centennial Thursday.
Refreshments and entertainment will begin at 3 p.m. in the library lobby and continue to 6 p.m. Puddin' the Clown will treat guests to balloon art.
Between this kickoff celebration and the actual 100-year anniversary, library customers will have opportunities to remember the past through special programs and events at the library."
