Ardmoreite.com | 01/02/05: "Not everyone can afford a computer or high speed Internet service at home.
Between 150 and 200 people use computers at the Ardmore Public Library every day. Many of the databases made accessible courtesy of the library can be accessed from home or office computers on the library's Web site.
Daniel Gibbs, new library director, said the library has 16-plus computers available for pubic use at no charge. Individuals using the internet computers are ordinarily allotted one hour and are not required to have a library card.
'We have people getting on and getting off all day long,' Gibbs said. 'On Monday (after Christmas), the first hour we were open we had 40 people using computers that first hour. By about 1 p.m., we had reached about 140 people on the computers.'"
