Asian American Festival @ Tulsa Library

Saturday June 03 2006 from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm
This event will be held at Martin Regional Library, 26 & Garnett inTulsa.
Celebrate and learn about the customs and traditions of Asian-Americans with a day of entertaining, educational events for the entire family. Explore the colorful cultures of China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and other countries in Asia. The festival kicks off at 11 a.m. with the Dragon Dance (Hung Gar), presented by Ten Tigers Kung Fu. At noon, meet Jane Hyun, author of "Breaking the Bamboo Ceiling: Career Strategies for Asians. The festival includes authentic arts, crafts and food booths; henna painting and sari folding; face painting and fun activities and programs for kids; storytelling; martial arts presentations; origami instruction; acupuncture, Yogalates (yoga and Pilates)and belly dance demonstrations; a Japanese tea ceremony; plus traditional classical dances of India. This event is for all ages.
