BEGINNING SALARY: $1213.00/mo through $1449.00/mo
Salary based on education and experience
WORKING CONDITIONS: 1/2 Time position.- 20 hrs/wk

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting with marketing and programming support and materials selection for the Center for Reader’s Services. Works with the coordinator to develop innovative and traditional services to promote reading, market the library as the primary resource for reading material for both pleasure and information, to coordinate system-wide programming and coordinate the selection of new material.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education and/or experience:
a. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from a graduate school accredited by the American Library Association preferred.
b. Two years professional library experience
2. Knowledge, skills and abilities:
a. Current principles and practices in Library and Information Science.
b. Library policies and procedures.
c. Use of technology in library applications.
d. Skills in planning and delivering staff training programs.
e. Skills in oral and written communication and ability to communicate in an effective positive manner..
f. Skills in organizing and analyzing data.
g. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with library customers and branch and system staff.
h. Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
i. Lift up to 20 lbs.
j. Retrieve and replace items from floor level to at least 5 ½ feet in height.
k. Work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends.
