Promising professionals

As always Lifehack.org delivers on this post regarding making promises at work.

Perhaps you can work some of these into your New Year resolutions - and not just with colleagues but with your patrons as well.
Don’t forget the things that you promise to do.
You should clarify what is expected of you.
Take on less.
Use ‘As Promised’ in your communications.
If you might miss a deadline or have to stop one project to give attention to another, renegotiate.

And why are these important? Well because
Broken promises diminish the value of your word.
Broken promises decrease your ability to work for and with others.
Broken promises lessen our own self esteem.
