News travels fast in MPLA

Well, considering I've received congrats emails from several MPLA members I decided I should probably post about this Oklahoma Library Story. But before I get to the news I just want to say, those MPLA folks sure are friendly and have one heck of a news network for me to be getting congrats already--so I salute you!
Last night I found in my inbox an email from Joe Edelen, at the University of South Dakota. And he wrote the following: "Just a brief note to welcome you to the Mountain Plains Library Association as a new member and to congratulate you on being selected as a Board Choice Award recipient."
Wow! I think the last time I won anything was a coloring contest back in 1979 at the IGA in Leoti, KS and all I got from that was a large stuffed animal big foot. This is so much cooler than that because someone had enough confidence in me to nominate me for this award--I only hope I make him proud.
So I encourage each of you in the MPLA region to look into this friendly library organization.
