2005 Ruth Brown Award Receiptiant - Teen Librarian from Yukon Oklahoma

Sara Schieman, Young Adult/Adult Programmer for the Mabel C. Fry Public Library in Yukon is this year's receiptiant of the Ruth Brown Award. The Social Responsibilities Round Table of the OklahomaLibrary Association offers the Ruth Brown Memorial Award to encourageand recognize programming that addresses issues of social concern asthey impact libraries, library collections, and the communitiesserved by these libraries. Sara is the current Children & Teens Roundtable Chair Elect for the Oklahoma Library Association. Her outreach program to incarcerated teens for literacy brings paperbooks to these students in her community.
