IMLS: What's New: Current: "The Institute of Museum and Library Services, the primary source of federal funds for the nation's museums and libraries, today announced the recipients of its prestigious National Leadership Grants for 2005. More than $17 million ($17,349,361) is being awarded to 41 museums and libraries throughout the country in this highly competitive grant program. The recipients will match the awards with an additional $15,522,757. "

2005 National Leadership Grants for Libraries - Advancing Learning Communities
In collaboration with seven other statewide cultural organizations and a variety of individual librarians, historians, and scholars, the Oklahoma Department of Libraries will sponsor a 27-month project entitled Oklahoma Image: 100 Years of Statehood as part of the state's centennial celebration. The project will produce a series of workshops for librarians, education directors, teachers, and others; public library programs on Oklahoma history; and standards-based study guides for K-12 teachers relating to the use of Oklahoma Image, an online digital image resource of primary sources.
