Rockbridge Weekly's Newsline | Admissions Fees from Presidential Libraries to go to Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund:
"The Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library Foundation has answered the call of former U.S. Presidents George H. W. Bush and William J. Clinton to join with their respective presidential libraries in donating admissions fees to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Along with eleven other presidential libraries across the nation, The Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library is supporting the relief effort by contributing the gate receipts from Labor Day weekend to the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund.

President George W. Bush enlisted the help of former Presidents Bush and Clinton to spearhead fundraising efforts for the ravaged Gulf Coast region. They have established the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund to provide long-term relief and rebuilding resources to help the victims of this great disaster. The money raised will be given to the governors of Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana for use in filling the gaps in unmet needs that are certain to arise in the weeks and months ahead with the recovery effort.

Pete deVaux, Chair of The Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library Foundation, said “We are eager to participate with our fellow presidential libraries in this effort as an important symbol of our country’s support for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.”

Commitments to the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund have been made by The George Bush Presidential Library Foundation, The Carter Center, The William J. Clinton Presidential Foundation, The Eisenhower Foundation, The Gerald R. Ford Foundation, The Hoover Presidential Library Association, The LBJ Library Foundation, The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Foundation, The Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute, The Harry S. Truman Library Foundation, The Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace Foundation and The Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library Foundation. To date, a total of $51,000 has been donated to the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund."
