WORKING CONDITIONS: Full Time Position - 40 hrs/wk

POSITION SUMMARY:
Coordinates management of the Library’s website and other technology-based services for the public and staff. Manages the “Texpert” training program and develops other staff training on technology. Assists the Associate Director for Technology with planning technology services. Works with department staff to develop and implement innovative services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education and/or experience:
Completion of a Master’s Degree in Library Science for a graduate school accredited by the American Library Association.
Experience working in libraries.
2. Knowledge of:
Principles and practices of library science.
Electronic information services
Library automation software, i.e. Dynix products.
Established library policies and procedures.
Trends in information science.
3. Skills in:
a. Application of the principles of library science.
b. Webpage authoring and Website management.
c. Database searching techniques.
d. Computer training techniques.
e. Implementing innovative projects.
4. Ability to:
a. Maintain open communication in a team-centered work atmosphere.
b. Use creative problem solving, think on your feet.
c. Organize and analyze data.
d. Work cooperatively with other departments.
f. Communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
g. Lift up to 20 lbs.
h. Retrieve and replace items from floor level to at least 5 ½ feet in height.
