Alva Review/Courier | Rural Oklahoma Artists Survey to be Launched

Alva Review/Courier | Rural Oklahoma Artists Survey to be Launched: "The Oklahoma Arts Council is conducting an Oklahoma Artist Survey that will identify visual, performing, literary, traditional and folk artists across the state.

Betty Price, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Arts Council, said the survey will help artists and communities showcase Oklahoma's rich culture.

'The Oklahoma Arts Council is developing an arts resource list that will connect Oklahoma artists to communities that are developing arts and cultural festivals, opportunities for arts education in schools and communities, and cultural tourism,' said Price.

Cultural Development Director Georgia Williams said the Arts Council is working in partnership with the Tourism and Recreation Department and the Oklahoma Main Street Center.

Results from this survey will link artists to communities. Arts organizations, Main Street offices, regional museums, historical societies, community theatres and libraries will benefit from this connection.

The online survey is available at http://www.arts.ok.gov/. For those without access to the Internet, please see your local library. For more information, contact Georgia Williams at the Oklahoma Arts Council at (405) 521-2931 or at Georgia@arts.ok.gov."
