Assistant Librarian, Terrorism Information Center at the Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism, Oklahoma City, OK
The Terrorism Information Center at the Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism in Oklahoma City seeks an energetic and innovative person to fill the role of Assistant Librarian. Though this position includes a variety of duties, the main focus will be performing original and complex copy cataloging across all subjects and formats. In addition to cataloging, the Assistant Librarian will identify and order pertinent material, manage interlibrary loan, assist researchers and train and supervise student interns.
Qualifications include an ALA accredited MLS or MLIS degree; excellent communication skills; ability to work effectively with individuals and groups; ability to meet deadlines; experience using emerging new technologies; a working knowledge of an integrated library system such as MIPT’s SIRSI Automated System; skilled with library cataloging standards such as AACR2, LC Classification and Subject Headings, MARC and non-MARC metadata standards.
Salary: A minimum salary of $34,000 plus benefits in the form of Social Security, health and life insurance, retirement and basic vacation and sick leave.
