You know what? I'm okay with that, if it is indeed a temporary measure while they figure out an adequate solution.
It's not that I want to restrict access to whatever content an adult wants to view -- but I also believe there's a time and a place.
As a sex-positive writer I am a bit confused by my reaction. I feel like I should be supporting equal access for all adults to whatever information they want, including erotic and pornographic entertainment. And I know that filters often block non-pornographic content, so having filters restricts one's ability to research various medical and social topics. Shutting off the internet altogether is surely too drastic a measure; it denies everyone else access to all kinds of information and punishes or at least inconveniences a bunch of folks who were not looking at adult content in a public place....
