Librarian, Reference and Instructional Services, University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, OK.

Hours: 8-5 Mon thru Friday, some nights and weekends
Salary: $32,362 annually
Close Date: Open until filled

Job Duties: Teaches library instruction classes in support of a wide variety of courses; assists in the development of instructional materials, guides in print and electronic formats and web content on research methods; naintains awareness of national trends and developments in instruction and information literacy and serves as a resource for other librarians; shares reference desk responsibilities that include assisting patrons in the use of library and gives instruction to individuals in the use of online resources, reference materials, and electronic resources; develops the Instructional Services Calendar, assigns Librarians to teach classes as needed, promotes the Instructional program to faculty and provides for special training for community groups. Serves as initial contact for the instructional program; serves on the Collection Development Committee and develops book and serial collections in the specific areas in conjunction with departmental faculty liaisons; contributes to the overall planning, development and implementation of library programs and policies; serves on local and state library and University committees; participates in professional associations and other appropriate venues for continuing education and professional development; performs other related duties as assigned and undertakes special projects as needed.

Qualifications: Required: Master's degree from an ALA accredited library program. Familiarity with information resources in a variety of formats. Ability to learn and apply new teaching technologies quickly. Demonstrated evidence of initiative and resourcefulness, have a strong customer service orientation, a proven ability to work collaboratively and independently, and a commitment to understanding and serving the needs of a diverse environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred: Teaching or library instruction experience in an academic library. Knowledge of teaching and research methodologies and their application to information literacy
