McAlester News-Capital, McAlester, OK - In the air:
Something new’s at the McAlester Public Library — but patrons can’t see it.

They’ll know it’s there though, every time they open a laptop or notebook computer, since a new wireless Internet system has been installed.

“We have two access points,” said McAlester Head Librarian Chris Sauro. “One is on the east side of the library and the other on the west side.”

“This is breaking new ground for us,” said Wayne Hanway, executive director of the Southeast Public Library System of Oklahoma.

It took some work to install the new system.

“First, I had to get a new router from the Southeast Public Library System of Oklahoma because my router was too old to support wireless Internet,” Sauro said.

The library paid for the new wireless system through a $1,874 grant from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, along with $3,000 from SPLSO for the new router..."
