Instructor / Assistant Professor – Library, Cameron University, Lawton, OK www.cameron.edu

Position: Employs ALA Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education to lead the library’s classroom and online instruction programs. Promotes student and faculty use of these programs at on—and off—campus locations. Provides leadership for, conducts, and implements information literacy planning and assessment activities. Works with faculty members to revise and improve library instruction class content and delivery methods. Creates, maintains, and revises printed and electronic instructional materials. Develops and maintains audio-visual library-related instruction. Teaches information literacy at on- and off-campus locations and online. Maintains reference desk hours, including some weekend and evening hours. Participates in general library planning and assessment activities. Completes appropriate research and scholarship. Provides meaningful service to the profession and the University.
This is a, faculty-status position. Appointment at the rank of Instructor is non-tenure-track. Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor is tenure-track.

Required: For Instructor, earned ALA-accredited MLS or MLIS. For Assistant Professor, earned ALA-accredited MLS or MLIS and additional advanced degree. Preferred: Additional advanced degree. Reference desk experience. Classroom instruction experience. Academic library experience. WebCT/Blackboard experience. Successful publication record. Planning and assessment experience.

Salary: Instructor; $40,000. Assistant Professor; $42,000.
