POSITION TITLE: Serials, Government Documents, and Electronic Resources Librarian, Library,

Position 08-F004

THE POSITION: Oversees day-to-day operations of Serials, Government Documents, and
Electronic Resources department; coordinates serials and other electronic resources management, electronic databases; serves as the primary liaison with print, microform, and electronic subscription vendors and publishers; is responsible for developing and maintaining digitization projects for the Library; supervises and trains staff in the Serials, Government Documents, and Electronic Resources department; markets and promotes serials, government documents, and electronic resources of the Library to the SWOSU community; serves with the other librarians on the reference desk of the Library approximately six hours per week; and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Masters Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited school; work
experience in a public or academic library of at least one to three years; knowledge and understanding of computers and computer peripheral devices; ability to work independently and in a team environment; experience with Internet and library research; strong organizational and analytical skills; attention to detail; and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing required. Demonstrated competencies in managing or troubleshooting electronic resources; one or more years of recent serial and supervisory experience in an academic library; demonstrated ability to be flexible with working assignments; experience with Microsoft Windows and digital scanning, access, and placement of electronic resources in a user friendly manner; and familiarity with on-line catalog operations, Endeavor Voyager preferred.

ANTICIPATED START DATE:
September 2007.

SALARY: Commensurate with existing salary structure.
