Head of Public Services of the Public Library of Enid and Garfield County
The City of Enid invites applications for the position of Head of Public Services of the Public Library of Enid and Garfield County. This position is a key member of the Library’s Administrative Team, directly reporting to the Library Director. Enid seeks applicants who demonstrate an enthusiastic commitment to the dynamic promotion of literacy and education within the community.

Responsibilities include: monitor the arrangement of materials and assign staff as needed to make adjustments; remove out-of-date materials and replace with new materials; supervise budgeting, planning, and personnel activities, explain use of library facilities, resources, equipment, services, library policy to staff and guests; schedule staff and conduct performance evaluations for those supervised; conduct in-house training as needed; promote literacy by participating in community activities, prepare monthly reports in narrative and statistical format; oversee patron activities, provide security, and notify authorities of disruptions, analyze patrons’ requests and assist in furnishing the information; review and evaluate resource material in order to select and order all formats available; locate unusual or unique information, arrange grant funding; schedule, advertise, and host various community programs of interest; provide assistance to other departments as needed; and perform other duties as required.

Qualifications: The right applicants will preferably have an accredited Master’s Degree in Library Science or an Oklahoma Department of Libraries Level V Certification or the equivalent obtainable within six months of employment. A minimum of four years of progressive library experience required.

Salary range: $26,478.40- $38,064.00 annually plus excellent benefits. This exempt position requires some evening and weekend hours.
