This one time at Library Camp...

KSBI-TV 52 | The future of librarians
It's meant to get students hooked on books.

Dionne Ballard, a student at Telstar Elementary, says, "I think it's good to learn to read to get a good education."

An event held at Telstar Elementary in Oklahoma City was working to do that and much more. It's part of a special library camp through Rose State College for middle school students.

Sharon Saulmon, the Rose State College Librarian, says, "There really is a shortage of librarians."

The hope is this will encourage the 30 middle school students to become involved in the library profession. It might even trickle down to the youngsters they're teaching at Telstar Elementary. Nine-year-old Tyreasha Johnson says she wants to be a librarian when she grows up...
